The artist has handed over the complete sum of his £25k honor cash to the trust for venues, which operates to protect the United Kingdom's small concert spaces.
The star was awarded the award on 16 October as his third album his work was chosen as the top album of the previous year.
The musician has chosen to give the cash to the trust, in appreciation of the essential function small stages had in his early career.
"As an artist would not have achieved my current career if it wasn't for all the gigs I played around the North East, and elsewhere, when I was just getting going," stated the artist. "These venues are iconic, but they are facing challenges."
Since the start of 2023, more than 150 of these venues have ceased operations – roughly 16 percent of the whole industry in the UK.
Over the past year, top acts like Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the trust in its efforts to keep the scene afloat, by adding a modest fee to their ticket prices, which goes to help local stages.
Sam Fender also participated, raising over £100k on his recent tour to help numerous local spots across the UK.
The money assisted venues that were confronting possible closure due to issues arising from flooding, fires and family tragedies, as well as regulatory hurdles, legal disputes and neighbor objections.
Some locations obtained monetary aid in modernizing infrastructure and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted artists and fans.
"The concept that revenue from concerts in big venues backs the local stages, where it all starts for performers like me, is just common sense," Fender has commented.
The musician is far from the only musician to contribute his Mercury Prize funds to good deeds.
In they earned the trophy in 1996 for their release their work, frontman Jarvis Cocker stated that the band would contribute their winnings to the charity War Child.
In 2002, artist she split her prize across several organizations, like the NSPCC and a charity for Sickle Cell.

Previously, Ezra Collective gave their funds to the local youth club that nurtured their act, as well as other independent music bodies.
Additionally 1994 winners M People contributed their prize to a charity for MS after a close contact was diagnosed the condition.
"The victory was ample," stated singer the singer. "The cash was the extra but we could do without the cherry, because we had the cake. So our success affected another person's life."
Last week, the trust announced it had protected two grassroots venues in that region, by bringing them into community ownership.
The Joiners in the city and The Croft in the city were purchased under the community ownership initiative, which is supported by a national body and enthusiasts who acquire "shares" in the buildings.
